NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3 and 5. NAPLAN is a nationwide measure through which parents, teachers, schools, education authorities, governments and the broader community can determine whether or not young Australians are developing the literacy and numeracy skills that provide the critical foundation for other learning and for their productive and rewarding participation in the community.
NAPLAN is made up of tests in the four areas, namely reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar, and punctuation), and numeracy.
These assessments are run by ACARA — the Australian Curriculum, Assessment, and Reporting Authority.
The students will be assessed on the following:
Language Conventions:
Multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank questions which focus on a student's understanding of Australian English grammar, spelling and language.
Writing:
Students are required to write a concise original text following a 'writing stimulus' and they will be assessed on their knowledge of combining language, formal writing formats and creativity.
Reading:
This test involves reading through a magazine including various text types. In order to assess students' reading comprehension, students will need to answer multiple choice and short answer questions.
Numeracy:
Students will need to use their mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills to answer a range of multiple choice, short answer and fill-in-the-blank questions.
Our NAPLAN Program is designed to be interactive and practical, with worked examples and challenges which get students solving problems and applying concepts (just like in real NAPLAN situations).
Our Face-to-face classes include NAPLAN modules for the Year 3 and 5 students sitting the NAPLAN exam, we offer both group and one on one tuition. We provide all your child's need to get started, including teaching sessions from an expert NAPLAN teacher, a simulation NAPLAN test and a subsequent revision of the test results and run-through of answers.
